The LIT Lighting Design Awards are one of the most respected international programs dedicated to outstanding work in lighting design and lighting products. Each year, a global jury of architects, designers, academics, and industry professionals evaluates hundreds of submissions across categories that span architecture, engineering, sustainability, and product innovation.

This year, Filix’s Tria System has been selected as a Winner in the Outdoor Spotlights / Street Lighting category, marking the second major international award Tria has received, following the Beacon Award for Architectural Product Design in New York.

Designed by Dean Skira and developed by Filix, Tria was recognized for its contribution to contemporary urban lighting and its ability to extend far beyond the role of a standard lighting pole.

A New Category of Urban Infrastructure

The LIT jury highlighted Tria’s approach to modern environments.

Instead of functioning solely as a lighting element, Tria is designed as an Urban Synergy Structure, a multifunctional platform that supports lighting, communication, wayfinding, and smart features.

Its adaptable structure allows it to fit into a wide range of environments:

  • residential neighborhoods

  • hospitality landscapes

  • urban parks and cycling routes

  • amusement and recreation areas

  • large-scale masterplans

This adaptability is made possible by a Quick Fit system that enables fast installation, simple maintenance, and easy future upgrades. With pre-installed 48V DC power distribution, fixtures can be added, replaced, or repositioned without complex intervention.

Sustainability as a Core Principle

The LIT Awards also place strong emphasis on environmental responsibility, an area where Tria stood out.

Key sustainability features include:

  • 91% recyclability, using high-grade aluminum and simple polymers

  • Refurbishment-forward design, allowing components to be serviced and returned to operation rather than discarded

  • Dark Sky–focused lighting options, minimizing light pollution and creating safer, more comfortable nighttime environments

This approach supports circular economy principles, reduces material waste, and extends product lifespan.

A Second Global Recognition

Receiving the LIT Award is a meaningful confirmation of the direction behind Tria’s development, a system that combines design, engineering, and long-term sustainability to meet the needs of modern public spaces.

With two international awards in the same year, Tria continues to build its position as a forward-looking solution for cities, hospitality projects, and landscape designers worldwide.
